Introduction of François-Xavier Abadie


Born in 1961, after studying Mathematics and Mechanics, François-Xavier Abadie started as an R&D engineer for the packing design and automation of packaging equipment for large DIY stores. Later on, he reorganized the Design Office of an American OEM, leader in dynamic sealing devices for Aerospace, Nuclear, Defense and other industrial applications. François-Xavier Abadie has been involved in the blasting and peening industry since 1988, at first as R&D engineer at WHEELABRATOR, the leader in shot blasting and peening equipment, in charge of industrial tests for application customizing, and equipment design and testing. During this period, he had the opportunity to test a wide range of media for any type of equipment and for various applications. He designed some pieces of equipment such as regulated generators for direct pressure blasting and peening, including a media flow regulation loop, specific media recovering and recycling systems, wheel turbine adaptation and characterization, a wet system etc. In 1994, François-Xavier Abadie was appointed as Regional Sales Manager for France & Benelux at SAINT-GOBAIN ZIRPRO, the leader in ceramic peening and blasting media for surface treatment. In 2001, he was promoted as Surface Treatment Product Manager for the same business unit. His first commitment was technical support to the worldwide sales force. He also initiated and coordinated several actions for R&D, production, customer support, quality management, communication and budget. Since 2013, François-Xavier Abadie has been Business Development Manager at FROHN, world leader in steel cut wire shot manufacturing and distributing a wide range of surface treatment media. François-Xavier Abadie has been involved with MFN as Official Trainer since 2003. He started the local French MFN courses in 2007, and he is the Official MFN Representative in France.
