Introducing MFN CHINA and the name change from MFN to MFN INTERNATIONAL

China is already the world’s largest single market for metallic abrasives. The same applies for shot peening and blasting equipment. It is an educated guess, but it is safe to say that the yearly shot peening and blasting equipment sales in China alone will be above that of Europe + North America combined (number of machines) extended through 2020.

Knowing such facts and predictions, for MFN, it was a logical step to consider publishing a magazine focusing on peening, blasting and vibratory finishing exclusively for the Chinese market. Crucial for this idea was the understanding that the new magazine could not just be simply a translation of existing articles that are published for MFN INTERNATIONAL, but should also provide news and topics about the Chinese industry and market coming from the viewpoint of Chinese companies. The justification for this rests on the realization that China being the world's largest single market of this industry, many if not most of the Chinese companies do not depend on export or even sell outside of China. So while MFN CHINA intends to exclusively report about Chinese topics, the only exceptions will be scientific and educational articles. New developments and knowledge are of general interest no matter from where it is coming from. Since China is a complex market, it took MFN over 1 year to be prepared for the new launching of the magazine. Not only was it necessary to find a good base of local authors and establish connections to local universities and organisations, good proof readers and translators also had to be found. Due to the fact that MFN's layout and design office is located in Taiwan, the editing in Chinese was a solvable problem. However, most important was the collecting of the most appropriate and correct Chinese postal addresses within the industries, and since MFN, due to quality reasons, never simply buys addresses, collecting all these contacts took almost 3 years. In the beginning, MFN CHINA will be published 4 times per year with more frequent issues planned for the future.

Due to the fact that MFN now publishes two magazines, it makes sense to change the name from MFN to MFN INTERNATIONAL. The new appendix and logo will more clearly indicate that these are globally read magazines.

We wish MFN CHINA a good start and MFN INTERNATIONAL shall continue its success story as it is!
