Plate cleaning machine

The Plate-Cleaning Shot-Blasting Machine consists of multiple centrifugal blast wheels each of them driven by individual motors to give a through cleaning. The jobs are kept on a suitable conveying system with variable speed drive, and then enter the blast cabinet for cleaning from abrasives fired by the multi-wheels for a homogenous finish, and finally, these duly shot-blasted components come out from the exit vestibule of the cabinet. The machines are fully equipped with abrasive recovery, an abrasive cleaning system, dust collector, control panel, and manganese lining.

The Blast Cabinet is lined with high-manganese rolled plate tiles in overlap style for adequate protection of the base plates. The perforated high-manganese casted sheet is placed above the screw conveyor line for protection purposes. Rubber curtains are provided in the inlet and outlet vestibules to stop escaping abrasive. The roller inside the blast cabinet is lined with replaceable high-manganese steel.

The service door is provided in the blast cabinet with safety features. A sensor is provided at the vestibules to start the blast cycle when the job reaches the blasting zone. This saves power as well as wear & tear on the blast cabinet interiors when the sheet is not in the blast cabinet. If the sheets or blast components are not fed into the machine for some reason or other, the solenoid valve controlling the flow of shot stops the abrasive feed to avoid wear & tear of the blast cabinet & the machine goes into power-saving mode. The blast wheel numbers 4, 6 and 8 are fitted on the blast cabinet to cover shot blasting of plates. A suitable capacity of bucket elevator is provided for transferring shots to the rotary screen separator. The rotary screen separator cleans the abrasives and removes oversize shot as well as dust particles, and only permits the appropriate size of shot to be fed in to the blasting wheels.

All blast wheel stations are provided with a shot flow control valve for regulating shot flow rate to the blast wheel unit. A reverse pulse jet dust collector with pleated cartridge is provided for continuous dust extraction from the blast cabinet. The function of the dust collector is to keep the blast cabinet adequately ventilated and remove dust particles and small-sized shot from the abrasive. The operation of the entire machine is sequentially programmed by PLC mounted in the control panel. The PLC shows working status of the machine, the number of hours the machine runs for maintenance, and various trouble-shooting requirements. Accordingly, the PLC Program is designed to suit customer requirements.

The machine is suitable for cleaning of steel plates, pre-fabricated sections, and automobile structure, etc. It is capable of imparting surface finish quality SA 2.5 & SA-3.

The loading and unloading system for the job can also be provided to suit customer requirements.

The blast wheel provided is coupled with the blast motor through the bearing housing. The blast wheel is precision machined on CNC's & VMC's dynamically balanced and hardened standards for 55 HRC by a scientific hardening process. Blades (No. 8) are provided with hi-moly, and hi-chrome composition, giving longer life. The control cage impellers are also made of hi-moly and hi-chrome. All liners are hi-manganese quality for longer life.
