Bietigheim-Bissingen, 9 December 2013 - Dürr has received the TIIS certificate, an important step in its development of the Japanese market. The expert opinion of the Japanese Technology Institution of Industrial Safety (TIIS) confirmed that the German company's painting and handling robots meet all the requirements for explosion protection. Thus, Dürr robots are now approved for sale in Japan. Dürr robots have had explosion protection certification for some time now from ATEX (Europe) and FM (USA).

Dürr is now able to market its EcoRP E033/133 and EcoRP L030/L033/130/133 series on the Japanese market. The TIIS certificate affirms Dürr painting robots' ability to be used in hazardous explosive areas. Dürr now plans to expand its business with Japanese customers within and outside Japan.

The certification is yet another confirmation of the quality characteristics of Dürr robots. The robots handle all painting tasks on body interiors and exteriors, and with parts in tracking and stop-and-go operation, and are also suitable for ESTA and AIR applications with either solvent-based or water-based paints. In addition, they also handle so-called Scara robot tasks. These tasks include opening, holding, and closing doors and bonnets on the body during the painting process.

A special feature of painting robots is that they are specially tuned to application components and specific painting processes. Dürr painting robots are highly flexible, providing the highest quality throughout the entire painting process.

They are known for material efficiency and provide short colour-changing times and minimal colour and solvent losses.
