The R&D of Rollwasch has been oriented to sustainability since 1991, when the actual C.E.O, Paolo Redaelli, presented the first new "Europa series" of chemical compounds for mass metal finishing, reformulated without strong pollutants and anticipated, de facto, the Reach directives of more than a decennia.

In ecology, sustainability is how biological systems endure and remain diverse and productive. Long-lived and healthy wetlands and forests are examples of sustainable biological systems. The organizing principle for sustainability is sustainable development, which includes the four interconnected domains: ecology, economics, politics and culture. Sustainability science is the study of the concepts of sustainable development and environmental science.

At Rollwasch, sustainability science is part of our DNA code, and it is the lens through which we look at the future.

To make practical examples, we are developing, since the "green start" of year 1991, new finishing concepts based on sustainability, like:

QF Media

A new generation of finishing media. Quattrofinish is the answer to sustainability both in the fabrication and in the use of media (patent pending - I).

In the fabrication, because the reduction of emission in the atmosphere is drastic (about 100%), compared to the classic fabrication of polyester media (based on styrene derivates), or to ceramic media (with high temperature furnaces); moreover, the energy required by the new methods of fabrication can be 100% generated by renewable sources.

In use, Quattrofinish media last about 10 to 20 times longer than a normal ceramic or polyester abrasive media, thus determining a drastic reduction of waste (1000% to 2000%) - in other words, a typical user of classic media consumes 15,000 kg for each vibrator of 700 liters capacity per year, while with QF media, the consumption is about 1,500 kg year.

Microfluid Process Technology

A new generation of wet finishing is the Microfluid process that is revolutionary for the consumption of water, reducing the consumption up to 1000% (Patent pending - I).

Microfluid process can also allow the process to dry the workpieces at the end, with no need of a further drying machine.

Centrifugal Filtering Of Muds, With Arw

A new generation of centrifugal filters for wastewater treatment (Patent pending - I).

To meet the needs of all those using the classic finishing process who require an efficient and competitive solution for the water treatment and re-circulation.

Vibrodry

A new generation of dry finishing is the Vibrodry process that is simplifying, wherever possible, the finishing of metal, wood and polymers (Patent pending - I).

Vibrodry process is progressively growing, matching day-by-day, new finishing needs. Without water!

Rotodry

A new generation of dry finishing is the Rotodry process that is simplifying, wherever possible, the finishing of metal, ceramics and polymers (Patent pending - I).

Wave Finishing

RoboTEP is assuring the best "Wave Finishing" to the surface of components of medical, aerospace, automotive, energy, faucets, watches, precision mechanic, hard metal tools, with high automation degree and the most competitive result than with classic finishing methods.

Particularly with the new rotary tanks designed according to the latest multichannel technology (Patent pending - I), it is possible to compress space, time and efficiency.

The 100% of the processes developed are without water, with dry methods, assuring innovation, automation and sustainability at the same time.

The above are only some examples that highlight the behavior of Rollwasch in the last 23 years.

This is what we call, at Rollwasch, RESS (Acronym for Rollwasch Environment Sustainable Strategy) - a strategy at 360° to give the right direction to mass metal finishing or, in general, to surface finishing, keeping in mind that an environmentally friendly policy is, most of the time, not only helping the future, not only respecting the environment and reducing drastically the volumes of waste, but also, incidentally, more competitive than the "classic" and "old" methods.
