With its acquisition of the Dry Media Division of Associated Chemicals Company, Bel Air continues its industry leadership in developing and supplying advanced dry process tumbling media.

This acquisition enables Bel Air Finishing Supply to add to its line of proprietary dry media blends, thus providing another finishing solution designed to improve efficiency and cut manufacturing costs.

Bel Air¡¦s new synthetic dry media eliminates conventional wet tumbling, particularly appropriate for soft metals such as aluminum and brass. Our synthetic dry media is ideal for processes where light deburring and surface refinement is required.

According to Bel Air President Steve Alviti, "our dry media solutions can eliminate the expense of disposing of vibratory effluent and wastewater disposal. As a result, our customers are dramatically reducing the cost of water and equipment used in conventional wet tumbling."

In one example, Bel Air finishing experts developed a dry media for a major international firearms manufacturer. Our solution completely eliminated two steps in processing their gun barrels, helping increase productivity and cutting the cost of barrel production.

Bel Air offers more than a dozen new blends of treated walnut and cob media covering the full spectrum of polishing, light cut and tool edge honing. We also supply recharge additives for replenishing some blends, which extends media use and provide additional savings.
