The 10th International Shot Peening  Workshop and Trade Show in Florida, which was held from the 15th to the 17th of May 2007, was once again a highly interesting event. A trade show with 12 booths complemented the FAA-accepted shot peening courses. MFN trainers from 7 different countries (England, France, Germany, Israel Italy U.S.A. and Switzerland) did their utmost to present various interesting topics and to address all questions and concerns in the best possible fashion.

MFN tries to update its courses continuously. This year the topic laser peening was officially introduced for the first time as a course subject by David Lahrman. Hands-on training on a flap peening device and on residual stress measurement equipment was a welcome alternative to theoretical presentations. The fact that all together 10 nations were represented allowed sharing experiences on an international level.

MFN's Beach Party

During one evening of the event a beach party was arranged in order to support networking. We would like to thank the sponsors Frohn North America, Peening Technologies, Superior Shot Peening and SEPR Saint-Gobain for making this social happening possible.

Future Outlook For MFN Events

MFN divides its workshops into "international" and "local" events. While the international workshops are combined with a trade show, the local ones focus only on training. Each workshop format has its own market place. MFN usually organizes 2 international workshops a year. However, MFN has done local workshops in Holland, France, Germany and Canada in the first half of 2007. There will be similar happenings in Japan, China, Taiwan and Italy later this year. In almost all cases they are carried out in the local language. MFN offers training in English, German, French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese. Additional local workshops in the U.S.A. are being planned for this year.

More information about MFN events can be found at www.mfn.li/workshops. By now the MFN organization has a team of over 30 specialists from 13 countries. Learn more about the team at www.mfn.li/contact.
