During the PaintExpo in Karlsruhe last March, Jochen Kecht, the Editor-in-Chief of JOT, met with Steven Baiker, the publisher of MFN. The two companies started to cooperate with each other for the distribution of IST (International Surface Technology) in September 2007.

IST is a special English-language edition of JOT, Journal für Oberflächentechnik, Germany’s leading journal for surface technology. It belongs to Fachverlagsgruppe Springer Science + Business Media, which is the second-largest scientific publishing company in Europe.

IST covers all aspects of surface technology such as liquid coating, powder coating, automotive finishing, electroplating, parts cleaning, paint removal, blasting, conveyor technology and measuring. The articles are carefully selected so that the information is of interest to an international audience.

It was decided to continue this cooperation since both parties are equally satisfied with the feedback. Together with IST, MFN is able to provide its readers information beyond just  peening, blasting, vibratory finishing and cleaning. This is very valuable input for MFN. On the other hand IST can improve its international recognition by using MFN's premium address data base, which includes 64 countries by now. IST will be mailed together with MFN 3 times a year.
