eAuditNet Enhancements for Nadcap

Nadcap is the leading worldwide cooperative program of major companies designed to manage a cost-effective consensus approach to special processes and products and provide continual improvement within the aerospace and automotive industries. Nadcap is administered by the not-for-profit Performance Review Institute (PRI) which provides customer solutions and support to Industry in the form of process, product and personnel qualification and cutting-edge technology.

eAuditNet is an invaluable online quality information database and reporting software tool with real-time 24-hour access. It functions as an instantaneous industry-wide instant alert system when product impact issues are identified, so that customers can immediately respond and protect their product. It facilitates online correspondence through secure forums while time-stamping all activity, protects proprietary rights through user access levels, acts as a contact directory for procurement purposes and a library for resource material.

Used to support the Nadcap audit and accreditation process since 2002, eAuditNet has enabled the program to grow to nearly 4,000 audits in 2007 compared to 1,196 audits in 2001, while maintaining the same staffing figures. This would not have been attainable if the Nadcap program was still operating with hard-copy information. Previously aerospace industry representatives met several times per year to review hard-copy audit reports and vote on accreditation. As this is now done online, they are able to utilize their face-to-face meetings on strategic future planning, auditor interviews, checklist revisions and developing ways to support the supplier community to achieve superior quality standards.

Work has been taking place for several months to improve the system for users, as part of PRI’s focus on continual improvement. eAuditNet 2.0 will feature enhanced navigation so that the screens refresh faster, reducing the amount of time required for eAuditNet user activity. In addition, the site will utilize an enhanced workflow system so that users know exactly what stage of the process they are executing. eAuditNet 2.0 has also been designed with improved user-friendly design and more aesthetic imagery.

Another focus of eAuditNet 2.0 has been to provide an enhanced real-time reporting functionality for Nadcap prime subscribers. The business intelligence that this provides allows for complete viewing and interaction for query and analysis, reporting and performance management. Advanced report scheduling and distribution capabilities make it easier to share the information with others. Several reports are already available to Nadcap prime subscribers, having been presented at the Nadcap meeting in Rome, Italy in February 2008, where training was also provided.

eAuditNet 2.0 is part of PRI’s Customer Solutions and Support, which aims to identify and meet customer demand in all areas of business relating to quality.
