HANNOVER MESSE 2009, 20 to 24 April SurfaceTechnology - adding value in all sectors of production

Efficient use of materials rapidly growing in importance Energy-efficient resource use boosts competitiveness

Hannover. Surface technology solutions are central to all sectors of production, from mechanical and plant engineering, to the automotive and energy industries, to the skilled trades. And they will be on display at the SurfaceTechnology show, held from 20 to 24 April 2009 as part of the HANNOVER MESSE industrial fair. Sited on 10,000 sqm (107,600 sq. ft) of display space in Hall 6 at the fair, the show will feature over 300 exhibitors from 25 nations and will span the entire surface technology process chain. The show covers the latest developments and solutions in the core areas of pre-treatment, electroplating and paint application technologies, surface coating solutions, industrial plasma surface treatment, and measurement and testing systems.

Spotlight on energy efficiency

With global energy prices soaring ever higher, competitiveness is increasingly a matter of energy efficiency. Energy-conscious companies have lower operating costs and tend to be highly innovative and ahead of the pack on the technology front in general. It is in these key areas - energy-efficiency and enhanced competitiveness - that surface technology solutions offer enormous potential. Which is why the SurfaceTechnology show profiles applied technologies that promise lower process costs and more efficient resource utilization.

Practice Park

At the Practice Park special display, each of 25 companies will be showcasing its specific area of expertise in industrial paint-spraying. The group display will demonstrate the entire process chain, from raw material to finished surface, with the aid of a large-parts paint line. The display is a cooperative venture between HANNOVER MESSE and AB Anlagenplanung.

"Surface World" at a glance

Organized by the German Surface Treatment Association (ZVO), the "Surface World" display provides an impressive integrated perspective on industrial surface coating processes. The display focuses on cleaning systems for industrial components, electroplating, process chemicals, plant systems and quality assurance.

Innovations at SurfPlaNet

The "SurfPlaNet" group pavilion has an interdisciplinary focus on pioneering innovations in surface treatment. Research institutes, industrial manufacturers and users will be showcasing their innovations on topical plasma surface treatment and in the field of nanotechnology.

Adding value through synergy

In 2009, the SurfaceTechnology tradeshow will be staged right alongside the MicroTechnology show in Hall 6. For visitors, this means unbeatable synergies between SurfaceTechnology and the MicroTechnology tradeshow's SchauPlatz NANO ("Nano for Industry") displays as well as its IVAM "Micro, Nano, Materials" Product Market. And because surface technology is such a multidisciplinary field, synergies with the SurfaceTechnology show are to be found throughout the entire HANNOVER MESSE fair. For example, the Subcontracting show has a segment on coatings for materials while the ComVac show focuses on vacuum coatings. SurfaceTechnology also shares synergies with the Motion, Drive & Automation (MDA) show, the Energy show and the fair's industrial automation section.
