MFN's Concept for its Publications

MFN INTERNATIONAL has been on the market for over fifteen years, while MFN CHINA was first published three years ago. Both magazines have steadily increased their readership over the past years.

When MFN INTERNATIONAL started, it was a very thin twelve pages black-and-white publication, with less than a thousand readers. Nevertheless, a clear strategy was in place. The magazine should only report about a very limited number of processes, but do this on a global scale. It only would cover articles about peening, blasting, cleaning and vibratory finishing, trying to include all economically interesting countries. This global approach was chosen for a simple reason: If a company sells its products internationally, it must also be interested in related news from that particular part of the word.

MFN undertook a great effort to recruit capable authors from Europe, Asia and North & South America. Furthermore, it also linked up with Universities from many different countries to get a scientific input and began cooperation with research centres, educational organisations or exhibitions.

Good columns and articles are the backbone of every magazine. MFN places great emphasis on its regular columns in order to ensure that its published texts maintain the best possible quality standard. A core team of about twenty highly-qualified specialists from different fields have been handpicked to write seven to eight columns in every issue. This is an unusually high number of features for a magazine in the surface preparation world, and allows MFN to create its own unique image within the publishing world. There are columns that serve an educational purpose such as "Science Update", "Standard Forum", "Nadcap - The Column" and the "Trainer Column". Others inform about processes, applications and technologies such as "Good Vibrations" and "Shot Peening in the Automotive Industry". Last but not least, "Off The Beaten Track" deliberately drifts off a bit from the standard content of a column.

For all other text contributions, MFN has clear guidelines. There is no print of company logos or text that is overly promotional. Company profiles are avoided and each article shall be of benefit for the reader. In doing so, the organisation has succeeded in creating a loyal readership not only for MFN INTERNATIONAL, but also for MFN CHINA.

We would like to thank our readers for their ongoing support!

Best Regards
