Blast Cleaning of Springs Prior to Coating
The RMBC 4.2-HD was painted per customer specifications and is equipped with special technical features. These allow the perfect blast cleaning of the compression springs as preparation for the subsequent coating process. To neutralize oil carried into the shot blast machine by the work pieces, the machine can be equipped with a dosing system for the application of a powder compound that catches and discharges the oil.
The shot blast machine is equipped with two high-performance Gamma 300G turbines, each with an installed power of 11 kW. This ensures short cycle times. Compared to conventional turbines, the Gamma 300G turbines are equipped with specially designed, curved throwing blades generating an up-to 20 %-higher blast performance.
The automatic blast media flow control allows not only the monitoring but also the precise adjustment of the media flow to the respective work pieces. The media replenishment takes also place fully automatically.
For over 80 years, privately-owned Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH has been actively engaged in the field of surface preparation and surface finishing. As global market leader, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of equipment, consumables and services around the mass finishing and shot blasting technologies for a wide spectrum of different industries. Our range of about 15,000 consumables, developed in our Customer Experience Centers and laboratories located all over the world, specifically serves our customers for resolving their individual finishing needs. Under the brand name AM Solutions, we offer numerous equipment solutions and services in the area of additive manufacturing/3D printing. Last-but-not-least, as our central training center, the Rösler Academy offers practical, hands-on seminars to the subjects of mass finishing and shot blasting, lean management and additive manufacturing. Besides the German manufacturing locations in Untermerzbach/Memmelsdorf and Bad Staffelstein/Hausen, the Rösler group has a global network of 15 manufacturing/sales branches and 150 sales agents.
Shot blasting is the most common pre-treatment technology to prepare the surface of technical springs for subsequent coating operations. In a newly established manufacturing line for compression springs, this cleaning operation takes place in a Rösler tumble belt blast machine. Within short cycle times, the custom-engineered RMBC 4.2-HD produces surfaces that are perfectly prepared for the subsequent coating operation. Oil carried into the shot blast process is neutralized and through the media cleaning system, is then separated from the blast media.
