On behalf of the organising committee, I am pleased to announce that the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Surface Enhancement (INCASE 2021) is moving online! In view of the ongoing pandemic and travel restrictions, a virtual INCASE 2021 is the only way to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our delegates. We are confident that the virtual INCASE 2021 will be an engaging, memorable and invaluable experience for all delegates, sponsors and exhibitors alike. 

The objective of INCASE 2021 is to encourage academics and practitioners to meet and exchange ideas in a conducive environment. Four main topics are up for discussion: Advanced Surface Treatments, Modeling and Simulation, Surface & Sub-surface Characterisation, and Surface Coatings. We invite the surface engineering community to join us in this exciting forum to share their outstanding contributions. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings: Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering (LNME), Springer (ISSN:2195-4356).

As virtual conferences are going mainstream, INCASE 2021 aims to offer an immersive and tailored experience. Attendees can customise their schedules according to their preferences. During presentations, live Q&A and interactive sessions will be held. In the event delegates are unable to attend any session, on-demand access to presentation recordings will be made available for up to 90 days after the conference. In addition, delegates will be able to set up 1-on-1 appointments with keynote speakers or any other conference attendee. All participants will enjoy access to a virtual exhibit, featuring poster papers and showcases from industrial exhibitors.
