Houston, TX – The Metropolitan New York Section of NACE International, The Corrosion Society, will hold its Winter 2010 Corrosion Symposium, "Corrosion Issues in Utilities," on November 16, 2010 at the Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT) School of Engineering and Science in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The program, chaired by Metropolitan New York Section Treasurer Costas T. Lymberis (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), features the following presentations followed by Q&A sessions:

• Coatings and Paints used in the Utilities, Richard French, Carboline, West Caldwell, New Jersey
• Corrosion Issues in the Utilities in the Nuclear Power Plants, James Melchionna, PSE&G Nuclear, Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey
• Corrosion Prevention and Reduction Requirements in the Telecommunications Industry, Mark A. Ali, Verizon Corporate Network and Technology, Baltimore, Maryland
• Corrosion Issues in the Utilities in Metal Plants, Kevin Handley, Ferro Corporation, South Plainfield, New Jersey

SIT Professor Keith Sheppard of the Chemical, Biomedical, and Materials Engineering Department will provide the opening remarks.
