This international 3-day event was scheduled from May 7-9, 2024, and took place at ARTC (Advanced Remanufacturing Technology Centre). It was MFN's 9th event at this top modern research facility.

MFN frequently organizes these international 3 days Shot and Flap Peening Workshops to attract a widespread audience.

The content of the training is a mixture of knowledge from suppliers of the industries, MFN scientific advisers and MFN trainers that is beneficial to all those involved in peening, rather than exclusively for one group in this field. So, operators, supervisors, process & maintenance engineers, buyers, even trainers, will be able to either learn something completely new, or at least be able to refresh knowledge.

FAA accepted Courses:

All shot and flap peening courses offered during the workshop are FAA accepted. Participants who passed the optional examination receive a "Certificate of Achievement", which has the related FAA identification number on it. The FAA acceptance gives the courses a general credibility. However, there are a lot of aviation repair and overhaul stations, which do receive frequent FAA audits. Especially those companies will appreciate to have access to a FAA accepted shot peening training. MFN must submit its courses all 2 years to keep the FAA endorsement.

Practical Training:

At ARTC the participants of the practical training have also access to a DIGITAL SMART robotic peening machine from Abrasive Engineering, that is not only state of the art from its robotic and programmable features, but also equipped with the latest media flow rate units available on the market. Different set-ups have been introduced to give the participants a real hands-on feeling. The same applies for the practical flap peening training that was taught according to the latest AMS 2590 and AMS 2592 requirements. All in all, the event was a great success and will continue next year.
