MFN has successfully conducted a 2-day Level 1 and Level 2 on-site shot peening training for Turkish Engine Centre. This training was for the engineers, and operators of shot peening for Pratt and Whitney. MFN continues to be the first choice for shot peening training for premium organizations around the world.  

The training was well received for its up-to-date course content and relevant topics. Level 1 is the minimum requirement for shot peening operators and is the foundation for Level 2. Level 1 course provides training in peening workshop operations and inspection.

Level 2 is the minimum requirement for shot peening supervisors and technicians. Level 2 builds on the knowledge gained at Level 1 and provides further skills. 

Apart from refreshing their basic knowledge in shot peening, the participants enjoyed the saturation curve solving exercises. During the Level 2 training, the participants are asked to draw the saturation curve with different arc heights that are obtained in practical situations. 

This not only teaches them how to manually draw the curve to find out intensity values, but also gives them insight into how to interpret them. If the readings are abnormal, or out of range, what actions they must take to resolve the problem.

Even though today we have curve solver programs that give us the intensity values just by entering the arc height vs. time values, it is important for us operators to understand the various situations faced during process establishment. The manually drawn saturation curve is also allowed by most standards.
